I am Rex Bond and have lived in Highlands County since 1962. Prior to being in real estate full time, I was in the banking business for 28 years and General Manager of Sun 'n Lake of Sebring Improvement District for 13 years. This has given me a great background for real estate. Actually I became a real estate salesperson in 1975 then went on to a broker in 1979. I helped Anne part time until I retired from the District in 1993. Highlands County is a great place to live. With over 80 lakes, there is fishing and plenty of water sports. Golf is great - on more than 18 golf courses. There are clubs and churches for all needs. And the climate is supreme. We have festivals and fairs, museums and libraries and just plain relaxing. We think you will find a home here. Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Placid and Lorida are all very special places in Highlands County - each with it's own special appeal. Sun 'n Lake of Sebring is a special place where we lived for many years. I found this 7,000, that was previously a hunting preserve for one of South Florida's pioneer families, for the developer. He wasn't quite ready to start developing it, as he was developing Sun 'n Lake of Lake Placid at the time. In 1974, the Weissers and partners did begin developing, putting in the amenities first, then began building homes. I have a lot of knowledge about Sun 'n Lake that I will be glad to share with you.
